Translation
Here lies Trophimos.
Commentary
The inscription was found not far from V 290 and V 302 and resembled them in script, according to Shkorpil. The monument was acquired for Melek-Chesmen Tumulus Museum.
1–3. On the formula, see Introduction IV.3.F.d.
4–5. The name Trophimos is widely attested not only in Christian Bosporus (V 285, V 289, V 301, V 331), where it had not been known before, but also in Cherson (cf. commentary to V 49).
