Additional description

Upper part of a rectangular altar, broken off on the bottom. Well worked on the sides and front. The top is treated summarily. On the left and right sides: reliefs of an eagle with wings down (on the left side, there is damage at the bottom). Eagles' heads, with wreaths in their beaks, are turned towards the front surface. The artistly is quite primitive, almost without any detailing. Seven lines of text on the front.

In a stone rubble pile, on the highway near the junction of the Quarantine Gully and Quarantine Bay (in the area of a supposed ancient road to Chersonesos and of an ancient necropolis). 

Find circumstances

Found in 1950s, during road works. Subsequently acquired by the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.
